Maqam in Contemporary Composition

The first BTC workshop was held in Cairo, Egypt 2019, in cooperation with Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute, the Danish embassy in Egypt and Cairo Opera House, where 4 Young Egyptian/Jordanian composers, Mattar and Kølster, through composition and reading sessions with the Awtar Quartet, ended with 6 new pieces for Piano Trio and Oud, and a presentation Concert in the legendary “Arabic Music Institute”.
